A New Look At Drawing Portraiture

Description: This class is for artists who want to expand their experience of drawing portraiture. By venturing into new ways of looking at the model and experimenting, we will gain an understanding of the technical details of features and learn how to get into the personality of the sitter.

There will be long poses, structured exercises, and experimental drawing. This is not a painting course, but each student is encouraged to bring tools, inks, charcoal, pencils, pens, conte¸ crayons, and things that they have not tried to use before. Work will be done on easels, but tables are available if needed. Exercises will be done as a collective and individually. Work will be done one on one with the teacher, so everyone goes at their own pace and level.
