The Cook Street Village Activity Centre is a non-profit organization offering social, educational and recreational activities for persons of all ethnic and cultural backgrounds.  Membership is open to anyone 50+ years, as we cater primarily to those of “mature adult” status.

Medical Equipment – Loans

Description: 1, Canadian Red Cross - Basic health equipment and Advanced medical equipment loans are provided for up to six months, with a referral. Victoria- 250-382-2043 / 909 Fairfield Road, Victoria, BC V8V 3A3, Open weekdays from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

2. Mount Newton Centre Society 250-652-2112 / 2158 Mount Newton X Road, Saanichton, BC V8M 2B2. Operates Monday to Saturday. Short term loan & long term lease agreements. Serves only individuals residing on the Saanich Peninsula north of Royal Oak Drive. Independent. Not affiliated with the Canadian Red Cross.

3. MS Society of Canada South & Central Vancouver Island - 250-388-6496 / 1004 North Park Street, Victoria, BC V8T 1C6. Loans equipment to people with multiple sclerosis.

4. Sooke Loan Cupboard Community - 250-389-4607 / 2037 Shields Road, Sooke, BC V9Z 1H5. Basic mobility aids, bathroom and bathing aids, bed assists, Active Daily Living assists. Nominal fee.

5. Wescom Medi-Lend Society 250-478-5373 / 567 Goldstream Avenue, Victoria, BC V9B 2W4. Medical equipment loaned to residents of the
Western Communities. Operates Monday to Friday, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Additional Information: For a small fee or donation, or in some instances free, people can borrow, for a short term, medical equipment such as hospital beds, walkers, crutches, and wheelchairs.

COAST is a weekly drop-in for older adults. Coffee, board games, and guest speakers! Royal Oak Neighbourhood House is operated by Saanich Neighbourhood Place.
